Question for you now Matt...
Is it just me, or can over people use the back button. I use the 'new posts' feature, but after reading one, have to go back via my fav/history button, or back to home and then new post, to access the list again.. Back button seems to give me random results. Does this on work and home pc. Bit convoluted... is there a simpler way?

Just so i'm clear, do you mean the "view posts since last visit" http://www.cavybreeder.com/search.forum?search_id=newposts ?

To be honest, i've never really tested it out as I don't use that feature, BUT I imagine the back button would cause issues, because the browser is showing you the old results despite the fact that you have now read X topic?

Yes, that's the button. It works on other forums.

So is there an easy way to ensure that you have seen/read all new posts?

Personally I scroll down the forum in the old fasion way, and look for the icon change, so when its red against a forum that forum contains new posts...and then if you go into that section, all new topics have the red icon indicator next to them too.

I will try and find a more conclusive answer for you, I wonder if it was to do with the recent upgrade.

Ok - I will try that!
No, it didn't work before the upgrade either.

When you say back button gives you random results, do you mean it includes posts that you have read, so they shouldn't be there?

Or random in another way?

No, it doesn't seem to do anything. Keeps me on the original post, and then jumps back two places at a time. Not explaining this well... Embarassed

Facebook does a similar thing sometimes.

In that case i'm stumped, I just tested it and everytime it went back ok, even if I was using the back button in my browser!

That's helpful for you, isn't it? lol! Sarcasm

I'll stick to using the history button then!

that button works fine for me.

However, there is a little quirk to it. I think it 'resets' new unread posts after a certain amount of time (or if you reboot). So if I have a list now of unread posts, and then leave my pc until sometime this afternoon or something.. then some of those unread posts will have disappeared from the list, no matter if I read them or not.
